On Monday 2 November 2020, five members of our team joined together with a number of other musicians for a very special performance

2 November each year is a special date in the liturgical calendar of the Christian church, as it is the day when the church commemorates all those who have died. It is known as “All Souls’ Day’, and the church prays for the souls of all those who have died. Both those known to us, and those who have no-one to remember them.

The service was at St John’s Church in Catford, where our team members David, Debby and June are all members of the church choir. Company directors Nick and Rachael were also invited to join the singers for the service, which was a really special treat as St John’s church is where Nick used to be Director of Music, and in term where he and Rachael met David, Debby and June.

The service included a complete performance of the famous ‘Requiem Mass’ by French composer Gabriel Faure, accompanied by an orchestra and conducted by the church’s current Director of Music, Jack Stone.  It was a wonderful and very moving event, at which members of the local parish were able to remember their departed loved ones by having their names read out, which included some whose funerals we have conducted over the past few months.

The service was live-streamed on the church’s Facebook page, and can therefore be heard by following the church’s page.
