Who are we?
Established in 2018, N. S. Wibberley Funerals is a fully-independent funeral company, operating across South London and North Kent. We are family-run, and work exclusively with other local and family-run businesses.
At N. S. Wibberley Funeral Directors, we pride ourselves on achieving excellence in everything we do.
Funerals are extremely important in our processes of grief. They are an opportunity both to come together in recognition of what we have lost, as well as celebrating the life of the person we love. In every detail of the funeral, you, your family and your deceased loved one will be our sole priority. We will work with you to develop, plan and direct the perfect funeral for you to say goodbye to the person you have lost.
When you come to us for a funeral, you know that your family will not be another ‘invoice number’ in a corporate machine, but rather that our family will care for your family in every way.
We care for the deceased in our charge at our state-of-the-art facility in South London, where they are under our supervision and we can prepare them in any way you instruct ahead of their funeral. Your loved one can be dressed in their own clothes, or a simple white gown. If you wish, you may dress them yourselves, with or without our help. Our coffin range will enable you to choose exactly the right coffin, be it a tradition wooden one, an eco-friendly woven one, or a completely unique picture coffin drawing on your loved one’s life and achievements.
We have access to an unprecedented number of unique funeral vehicles, including traditional black Mercedes and Jaguar limousines and hearses, newer white fleets of Mercedes, old Daimlers in both black and white, classic Rolls Royce and Aston Martin limousines, leopard-print hearses, Union Jack hearses, and – of course – horse-drawn carriages. The funeral procession can be as unique and tailor-made as the rest of the funeral. However, our most popular fleets are still the traditional black vehicles.
An N. S. Wibberley funeral is completely bespoke and unique. It is part of our mission to end the link between top-end, bespoke, compassionate funeral services and ridiculously high prices.
At N. S. Wibberley Funerals we see our vocation as bringing the best possible service at an affordable and fair price point.
“I am delighted to be able to present some of the ways we at N. S. Wibberley Funeral Directors can help you. We are a small family business run by myself and my wife, Rachael. We work together with a small team of local people and businesses to provide you with a bespoke and unique funeral service, drawing on the things you would like for your loved one’s funeral.
Having worked for many years in the funeral industry before founding this company with my wife, I became unhappy with the way funerals so easily become far too expensive. I do not believe that people should have to choose between the funeral they want and the funeral they can afford. With this idea in our minds, we founded this company with a mission to find ways to economise the funeral process without compromising our highest possible standards, in order to pass savings on to the families who need our services.
We are strong believers in saving the planet, and to this end try to limit unnecessary printing and paper trails wherever possible. We also look for these ideals in the products and companies we use.
We hope this website is useful in advising you on the services can provide. Please remember we offer a fully bespoke service, so our website is merely an idea of options. We do our best to accommodate all requests, no matter how unusual or bespoke, so please contact s directly if you have any questions.”
Nicholas Wibberley, Managing Director
Meet our family
Originally a graduate of music, Nicholas Wibberley has worked in the funeral industry his entire professional life, having joined his first funeral directing company at the age of 19.
Nicholas was born and grew up in South East London where he attended locals schools and was a member of several local churches. He has worked for several different funeral companies, including two nation-wide corporate companies as well as smaller independents.
Outside funerals, Nicholas is still heavily involved with music, working in various churches and ensembles and regularly performing in concerts. His and his wife Rachael’s love for music can be seen across their funeral brand, particularly in the naming of their coffins and urns.
Rachael Pereira (Wibberley)
Rachael was born in West London. Throughout her school days she learned to play the flute, and then went on to study music as an undergraduate student at Goldsmiths College, University of London in New Cross, where she and Nicholas met. She specialised in performance and teaching.
“The team at N. S. Wibberley Funerals made us feel relaxed and at ease. They helped us with all the arrangements of our father’s funeral and guided us in the right way to proceed.”
